Borissov Law Office has advised successfully the biggest French bank Credit Agricole in relation to its indirect acquisition of Emporiki Bank Bulgaria AD.

Credit Agricole is the largest banking organization in France with a presence across the entire spectrum of banking and finance activities. It is the European leader in terms of domestic market position and ranks number two in Europe and number fifth in the world in terms of capital.

In August Credit Agricole S.A. successfully completed the public offer for Emporiki Bank of Greece S.A. and its shareholding reached 71.97% of the issued share capital.

Borissov Law Office was instructed by French bank regarding the Bulgarian end of its global acquisition of Emporiki Bank, valued at €3.1bn. The work entailed advice on banking, competition and general corporate issues and also representation before the Bulgarian National Bank for approval of the acquisition.
