Cabinet may refinance global bonds with new issue
Deputy finance minister Ana Mihaylova said in an interview for Dnevnik Daily that the government may refinance some of the existing global bonds with a new issue to take advantage of the present conditions on the international financial markets. Mihaylova expects that the placing will improve the current conditions of the foreign government debt. About a month ago, finance minister Simeon Dyankov said for Dow Jones Newswires that the cabinet is considering placing Eurobond in the spring. The value of the global bonds of the government amounted to EUR 1.56bn as of end-September accounting for 47% of total foreign state debt and for 33% of the overall state debt.
